At first I had a vision of sending supplies all around the world: I was in contact with dance studios here in the US, China, Togo, and Bangladesh. But I quickly realized I wanted to do so much more with my project then simple put a bunch of supplies in a box, mail it off, and be done. I wanted to make the biggest impact with my project as possible so I decided to locate one studio and focus all my energy and time on that. This was only the second time I’ve been to China and the last time I was 3 years old to it’s been a dream to go back. I honestly didn’t think it was possible at all but I a month ago my mom and I bought plane tickets and everything came together in a few days. The studio is called the LiangAn Dance and Art Center, they have everything from drawing, art classes, taekwondo, ballroom, Chinese dance. So I was really excited to introduce ballet to them. You’ll see in the second video I made a little bit of the ballroom they performed for me. This is the picture of the director we were constantly in contact with. She’s done such a beautiful job instilling hope and light for these kids future and you’ll also see that work ethic and motivation in the video I made. This is a photo of the studio it had a a wall entirely of windows that looked onto the country and river side.

Why I wanted to do this project...

Because I’ve been raised in such a privileged town, I often forget how lucky I am to have what I have and have the freedom to pursue...
